How it started.
I grew up in a small town where the local mechanic was also the local football coach. I started sweeping floors in his shop at fifteen, was turning brakes by seventeen, and rebuilt my first transmission before I turned twenty. That shop taught me one thing that has stayed with me ever since: always measure twice, cut once, and explain to the customer what you found.
Twelve years on, that’s still the rule. The car in front of me belongs to a person, and that person deserves to understand what I’m doing and why.
